UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School MBA Scholarship in association with The Irish Times
The Competition
UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School is delighted to partner with The Irish Times to offer readers the chance to win a scholarship to cover full tuition fees for a part-time Executive MBA at UCD Smurfit School, worth up to €30,000.
Over four weeks from Friday January 22nd to Friday February 12th readers have the chance to answer 4 GMAT questions as provided. Applicants for the scholarship must answer three of the four questions correctly and submit a short application form, registering their details as a participant. Those who answer the questions correctly will be asked to submit a full MBA application form, these will be assessed and successful candidates will be invited for interview. The best candidate will win the overall scholarship prize.
Entry Requirements
- 1. You must have a university degree or equivalent professional qualification and a minimum of three years' professional experience.
- 2. You must answer correctly three of the four GMAT questions online at www.irishtimes.com/competitions/mbascholarship
- 3. Those who answer three of the four questions correctly will be invited to complete the standard MBA application process for the second-round of the competition.
- 4. You must have already taken or be prepared to take at short notice the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). Admission to the programme will be conditional on satisfying the GMAT requirements of the Executive MBA programme at UCD Smurfit School. Further information at www.smurfitschool.ieand www.mba.com
- 5. A panel of judges will then select a third-round short list, based on applications. These candidates will be interviewed.
- 6. The Irish Times scholarship will be awarded to the highest calibre candidate selected from the applications received, subject to their meeting, at a minimum, the standard entry requirements of the UCD Smurfit School Executive MBA programme.
Terms and Conditions
- 1. Competition is open to residents of Ireland except employees of UCD and The Irish Times, and their associated affiliated or subsidiary companies, and their immediate families, agents, or anyone connected with this competition.
- 2. The competition is open to those who have already submitted an application directly to UCD for 2010 entry to the executive MBA programme.
- 3. The Irish Times Executive MBA Scholarship will be awarded to the candidate deemed to be of the highest calibre by the UCD Smurfit School judging panel. UCD Smurfit School reserves the right not to award the Scholarship prize if no candidate of the required calibre is identified. The decision is final and correspondence will not be entered into.
- 4. Candidates should have a university degree or equivalent professional qualification, a minimum of three to five years' professional experience, an acceptable score on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), and two references, normally from current and/or former employers and/or colleagues.
- 5. Short-listed candidates will be interviewed by the judging panel.
- 6. The winning candidate has a choice of three MBA courses: Executive MBA Blackrock Midweek; Executive MBA Blackrock Weekend; Executive MBA City Centre Midweek.
- 7. Prize consists of two years' tuition fees, worth up to €30,000.
- 8. Candidates must be available to commence the Executive MBA programme in September 2010.
- 9. The competition is not open to recipients of any other MBA scholarships being awarded by UCD Smurfit School, but is to open to those who have applied for 2010 entry to the programme.
- 10. Closing date for entries: Monday 15th February 2010.
- 11. Winning candidate will be informed in May 2010.
- 12. Classes commence late August 2010.
- 13. No cash alternative.
- 14. No substitutions allowed.
- 15. Winner must agree to participate in publicity if applicable.
