TSB issues euro warning

TSB Bank chief executive, Mr Harry Lorton, has urged banks and their customers to step up preparations for the launch of the euro in January 1999.

Speaking at the Institute of Bankers in Ireland president's dinner in Belfast last night, Mr Lorton said everyone should assume that the new European currency will happen on time, bringing profound changes for the European financial systems.
