This is not a ruse to get malware on your laptop, dear reader. The Malware Museum is a collection of vintage viruses that made their way around computers of the 1980s and 1990s. They have been declawed: the harmful bits are gone, leaving behind the creative parts. Think dissolving letters, wacky animations and floods of binary a la Hackers.

Can a piece of malware be seen as a work of art? They certainly were clever, inventive, and their creators had a sense of humour. The Skynet virus, for example, lets you know that it's not all bad; rather than destroy your computer it will merely slow it down. An early form of technological mindfulness? For your convenience, these all run within modern browsers by automatically loading through a DOS emulator (DOSBox). Hack the planet!
