Leaving Cert Maths MOOC

Irishman Mike Feerick set up online MOOC platform Alison back in 2007, long before Massive Open Online Courses became mainstream.

He’s innovating again, this time with Alison’s free online maths resources for the Leaving Certificate Project Maths curriculum. Students can sign up for free live classes and there are 250 videos working through maths problems for ordinary and higher levels.

Content has been created alongside educators from
the Galway Education Centre, Athenry Maths Academy and Project Maths Teachers.

How to sell stuff on Twitter
If you thought official social media marketing accounts on Twitter were all boring "retweet this and win a pair of socks" type messages, then you've got to see the conversation between Tesco Mobile, Jaffa Cakes, Cadbury's and Yorkshire Tea from last week. The people running these accounts are a little bit crazy but hilarious conversation ensues and lots of people engage with them. Ain't no party like a Jaffa Cakes
party! I checked back and they're still twittering
away – an example of great (and free) online brand building.
