Computer maker Hewlett-Packard plans to close a site in Germany by October as part of its restructuring plan.

It said it was closing its site in Ruesselsheim, southwest of Frankfurt, and some 850 jobs would be cut. The remaining 250 employees may be able to transfer to HP partners or clients.

HP said the restructuring of its enterprise services business would not affect HP’s other sites in Germany, and it would continue to employ 10,000 people in the country.

The company, which employs more than 300,000 people globally, began a multi-year restructuring last year . – (Reuters)
