An activist group of Siemens shareholders has called on the management of the German electrical engineering giant to pay damages to people forced to work for the firm as slaves during the Nazi regime.

The forced labourers were prisoners of war or came from regions occupied by the German armed forces and from concentration camps. Many of them died of hunger and exhaustion, according to the activist group.
