Upwardly mobile: engagement with smartphone digital marketing is growing at an "exponential rate" says Ian Dodson, CEO, Digital Marketing Institute.
THIS WEEK:More than 17 million smartphones and tablets were activated on Christmas Day 2012, a 156 per cent increase from 2011, according to research by Flurry Analytics.
Furthermore, Deloitte’s global mobile consumer survey estimates one billion smartphones will be shipped worldwide this year, taking the total installed base of smartphones to nearly 2 billion.
With these statistics in mind, the importance of mobile marketing is hard to ignore.
Consumers are shopping from their smartphones more and more so businesses need to utilise mobile marketing to their advantage.
“Mission Possible – Everything is Possible on Mobile” is the theme of Ireland’s first digital marketing conference of 2013, which takes place this Thursday in the Lighthouse cinema in Dublin.
The conference will include a mix of presentations and practical mobile case studies, with thought leaders discussing the opportunities and challenges mobile marketing presents.
Speakers will include Mark Schaefer, named by Forbes magazine in 2012 as one of the Top 50 social media experts of the world, and internet entrepreneur Dylan Collins founder of Jolt Online Gaming.
“With mobile engagement growing at an exponential rate our conference will share insights on how to take advantage of this great opportunity and maximise the return on investment from your mobile marketing spend,” says Ian Dodson, CEO of the Digital Marketing Institute.
