Safety on building sites

The boom in the construction sector is putting increasing pressure on health and safety standards, the Insurance Corporation of Ireland has said.

The company, a division of Church and General, said "with large volumes of work on hand and often extremely tight deadlines, some contractors are finding it very difficult to maintain the desired level of safety".
