New Zealand's consulate general in Dublin has reopened with the appointment of Mr Alan McCarthy (left), as honorary consul-general.

Mr McCarthy has strong links with the Irish commercial world and it was hoped the appointment would help strengthen what was already a warm and broad-ranging relationship between the two countries, said New Zealand's ambassador to Ireland, Mr Paul East.
