A management reshuffle at National Toll Roads (NTR) means Mr Jim Barry (33), currently assistant chief executive, will take over as chief executive at the end of year when the incumbent, Mr Tom Roche, retires. Mr Roche will remain on the NTR board as a non-executive director.

Mr Barry joined NTR in September 1998 and has been involved in the diversification programme under which the group expanded from its core toll bridges business to waste disposal through Celtic Waste and wind generation of electricity through Eirtricity. Mr Barry previously worked with consulting firm Bain & Company and Morgan Stanley.
