More than 50 digital media firms have inquired about locating in the State-sponsored €130 million (£102 million) digital districts project in the Liberties, Dublin. This public-private partnership project will seek to cluster leading-edge Irish and international digital media firms at a digital hub development in Thomas Street. Digital Media Development (DMD), which manages the project, outlined the interest yesterday at the launch of the first phase of development. Mr Paddy Teahon, DMD's executive chairman, has no concerns about the project's future due to the high-tech downturn. "I believe strongly this is where Ireland has to be. . . there has been a downturn but the underlying technology has not gone away."
