Mobile Phone Shield

Scientists are concerned that mobile phones emit harmful rays into our ears every time we use them

Scientists are concerned that mobile phones emit harmful rays into our ears every time we use them. In professions that are forced to use mobile phones a lot, there is some anecdotal evidence of brain distortion. But other experts insist that estate agents, government advisers and taxi drivers were like that even before mobile phones were invented.

But, as it says on the front cover of the new Phone Shield: "Why live with that risk?" Especially when for just £34 you can "reduce radiation" and "reflect radiation away from the brain". And into the bargain, your ears will love you for the "thermoformed construction cushion".

The Phone Shield doesn't cover the whole handset, only the parts the manufacturer says emit the most radiation the base of the antenna and the earpiece. The before-and-after scans on the back of the pack are very impressive.

The Phone Shield, £34, is available at The Telephone Centre on Dawson Street, Dublin, and other mobile phone accessory stockists.
