Germany's after hours electronic IBIS DAX index shifted to gains, in line with rising bunds. Shares had traded lower during the floor session, still reacting to surprisingly strong US GDP growth announced on Thursday.
Paris CAC-40 2115.38 (-21.42)
French shares reduced their heavy losses on the US data. The CAC 40 index had been down 1.87 per cent just before the figures, but it recovered to around 1.4 per cent down, before slipping back. Credit Foncier de France shares failed to requote for a second day running.

Milan Mibtel 10533 (-35)
In Milan, the Mibtel index slipped by a moderate 0.33 per cent on the day to end at 10,533 points in dull trading.
