Siptu seeks meeting with C&C Gleeson on proposed job losses

Workers concerned at lack of clarity on rational for job losses as part of restructuring

Siptu has called on the management of drinks firm C&C Gleeson to meet union representatives and begin a process of engagement relating to a proposed restructuring of the company that could result in up to 25 job losses.

Siptu organiser Terry Bryan said management at the company recently announced plans to restructure the sales, depot administration, commercial support and depot operation elements of its business across the country.

Workers and their families were concerned at the lack of clarity and information from management in relation to the rationale for the job losses as well as the terms on offer for those affected, he said.

C&C Gleeson, owned by listed group C&C, has two manufacturing facilities in Co Tipperary, at Borrisoleigh, producing Tipperary Water, and in Clonmel, producing Bulmers.
