Lisburn company in £3.2m expansion

Lisburn company Leckey, which develops specialist, supportive equipment to help children and adults with special needs, plans to create 50 additional jobs as part of a new £3.2 million (€4.08m) investment project.

Founded by James Leckey, its chief executive, in 1983, the company today is considered a pioneer in the research, design and development of clinically focused, posturally-supportive products.

Mr Leckey said the latest investment project represents an “exciting milestone” for the business and he now hopes to increase sales and introduce new range of products.

Northern Ireland First Minister, Arlene Foster said the " export-focused development" would help Leckey to shape the future technology available within the mobility market.
