Kitt urges public pay reform

The entire system of public sector pay determination needs to be modernised, the Minister of State for Labour, Trade and Consumer Affairs said yesterday. Profit-sharing was not an option at present in most areas of the non-commercial public service, although it was common practice in many semi-state companies, Mr Tom Kitt told a Save As You Earn conference in Dublin, sponsored by Barclays.
