The Irish Times kicked off its new television campaign this week with a 30-second advertisement featuring violinist Cora Venus Lunny. The campaign will run initially until June and it has a media spend of £250,000 on RTE, Network 2, UTV and Channel Four, with the potential to extend into cinema later in the year. There are four ads in the series - the others show Marianne Faithful, Brian Kerr and Conrad Gallagher who talk about particular aspects of the paper that appeal to them. In each case, the twist is that it is not what you might expect. The advertisement was created by McConnells and produced by Jonny Speers with Lenny Abrahamson directing.
