IDA Ireland last night expressed its sympathy with people working in US companies here who had relatives, friends or family involved in yesterday's attacks. More than 500 US firms have operations in the State.
A spokesman for the IDA said: "The human pain far outweighs any other consideration at this time. The full effects will take some time to become clear".
