Laya to add 50 jobs as it expands its Irish operations

Company says it has already met initial job creation targets promised in 2012

Health insurance firm Laya Healthcare is to add 50 jobs over the next two years as it expands its Dublin headquarters.

The company said it had already started recruiting for the positions, which are in its customer service and claims teams in Dublin and Cork.

Laya, which was launched in May 2012, initially promised to create 100 jobs by 2015. the firm said it had already met that target, with its current headcount at 440 between its Dublin and Cork offices.

Managing director Dónal Clancy said the expansion showed the firm’s commitment to the market.

The new office in Dublin, which was officially opened today, comes as the health insurance provider reported a growth in its Dublin membership of more than 16 per cent in the past two years.

“Last year, we recorded our strongest performance yet, with corporate sales growing by over 70 per cent,” Mr Clancy said. “The outlook for 2014 is equally positive.”
