Guinness markets new cider

Guinness Ireland greeted the beginning of summer with the introduction of its first mainstream cider product, Cashel's

Guinness Ireland greeted the beginning of summer with the introduction of its first mainstream cider product, Cashel's. The new drink, which was developed in association with HP Bulmers, goes on sale this week in 250 outlets throughout the Republic. The new draught brand is targeting the mainstream cider market which has seen strong growth in recent years and is worth in the region of £200 million (A254 million) annually.

Most of the marketing spend for Cashel's will be concentrated on in-pub activity.

Although it may seem like it's been with us a lot longer, the Bulmers outdoor campaign is in the final stage of the nine-month Working With Nature series. In the latest offering, we see a beekeeper examining a honeycomb of bees in front of - you guessed it - the Bulmers orchard, which is now in full blossom. The campaign, while embracing the four seasons, sadly didn't feature anyone you would actually want to have a pint with.
