Friends First sets up new fund

Friends First has introduced a fund based on global trend analysis. The fund's managers will focus on the economic, cultural, environmental and legislative trends that drive world markets.

By selecting stocks that are influenced by those trends, the managers aim to out-perform the index in question.

This differs from traditional management where asset allocation is usually based on geographical or industry sectors.

Global Trend Fund is being managed by British investment house Foreign & Colonial.
