Australia's biggest lender, National Australia Bank, is due to post its annual results on Friday and investors will be watching for any negative impact from the credit crunch.

The ECB's governing council meets this Thursday, but is not expected to alter the euro zone's interest rates. The Bank of England is also expected to keep rates on hold this week.
