Slattery to step down as executive vice president of State Street Corporation

London-based Irishman spent 15 years with bank

Irishman Willie Slattery is to step down as an executive vice president of State Street Corporation at the end of this year.

He has been based in London for the past three years and is head of State Street's global services business for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Mr Slattery, who turned 60 in July, has spent 15 years with State Street and was one of the highest-profile members of the international financial services sector in Ireland.

Central Bank

He worked for the Central Bank of Ireland for 23 years until 1996. Last night State Street said Mr Slattery had made a “significant contribution” to the company and the wider industry.

"Following his departure, Susan Dargan, in addition to her existing role, will also assume responsibility for State Street's offshore business in Luxembourg, " it added.

Mr Slattery also recently stepped down as a non-executive director of Aer Lingus.
