Enterprising trade unions

MSF, one of the two main unions at Enterprise Ireland, is to ask the Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU) to raise the issue of union representation on the board of the new agency with the Taoiseach, Mr Ahern.

MSF is angry that the Tanaiste, Ms Harney, did not appoint any union representative to the 12-person board. Mr John Tierney, MSF national secretary, said ICTU would seek to raise the issue with Mr Ahern under Partnership 2000.

Mr Tierney is a member of the executive committee of the ICTU.
