Eircell has acquired Talk to Me, a mobile phone retailer in the north-east and announced it will form a joint venture with 20/20 Logistics, a distributor and repairer of mobile phones to retail outlets.

The acquisition of Talk to Me, an independent chain of nine shops with net assets worth £537,000 (€682,338), brings Eircell's retail division to a total of 86 shops. The joint venture with 20/20 Logistics, part of the UK-based Cauldwell Group, will allow Eircell to develop a logistical capability, said Mr Stephen Brewer, chief executive of Eircell.
