ENTERPRISE IRELAND:Enterprise Ireland has appointed a life sciences start-up ambassador in a bid to encourage entrepreneurs to establish a base in Ireland.

Dr Arthur Rosenthal will take up the role as ambassador for the US, joining similar start-up ambassadors for key markets in the UK, China and Middle East. He has almost 40 years of experience in developing medical device technologies, and is an internationally recognised expert in the field.

A €10 million fund was established late last year targeted at overseas entrepreneurs. The fund is aimed in particular at the Irish diaspora, and serial and mobile entrepreneurs, although it is open to company promoters anywhere in the world.

Dr Rosenthal said he embraced the opportunity to support ongoing efforts in building an environment where medical technology start-ups could grow. “I am delighted to share my personal experiences with budding entrepreneurs.”
