Northern Ireland is still in recession and much of the blame for its economic woes is due to the collapse in property prices according to a survey of 500 local chartered accountants.

The North’s exposure to the Republic’s recession is highlighted as a key factor for its weak economic position.

The Chartered Accountants in Ireland, Ulster Society, said economic recovery has stalled in the North and the region is performing worse than the UK as a whole.
