Motor manufacturer Toyota introduced its new Hybrid Prius this week - the first mass produced car operating on a mix of petrol and electricity. Next Tuesday's episode of Tech TV on Network 2 will feature a test drive of the new eco-car and a feature on how cars could soon run without petrol. John Collins will take a spin in the Earthwatch electric car, which has been built specifically to raise awareness of the advantages electric power offers.
Tech TV will also be examining MIDI technology which emerged in the early 1980s as the communications protocol between computers and electronic instruments. It has changed little since then, but is alive and well and operating in the Sound Training Centre in Dublin's Temple Bar.
