The European Central Bank comes to Dublin for the first of its meetings outside Germany but, with inflation set to top 3 per cent in figures out today, it is unlikely to mark the occasion with a move on interest rates.

Interest will focus on whether the bank's governing council takes advantage of its visit to comment on the Irish economy.
