One More Thing: Dry dock for Cotter

The prestigious Caribbean 600 yacht race starts on Monday, but there is no place in the line-up this year for Michael Cotter of Park Developments.

Cotter, one of the biggest boomtime housebuilders in Dublin before Park's loans went to Nama, is known as an avid sailor. In 2012 his Whisper 78-footer finished eighth in the race, a 605-mile jaunt around the Caribbean starting and finishing in Antigua. It finished 38th last year, although its owner was listed as Mark Dicker, who was skipper when Cotter was previously listed as owner.

The race has long attracted wealthy Irish business types. High-profile currency trader Adrian Lee won it in 2009, and finished sixth in 2011.

This year's lone Irish entrant is the €7 million super-yacht Cape Arrow , owned by a low-key Wicklow company called Tuskar Shipping. In turn Tuskar is owned by a nominee Italian trust, so the boat's ultimate owner is unclear. It's for hire for €50,000 a week, though, if you've any spare cash.
