Quinn, Lagan drop joint venture plans

Lagan Cement and Quinn Building Products have dropped plans for a joint venture.

The potential agreement was announced in December, when the companies signed a memorandum of understanding that could have lead to a deal.

The companies said the idea was to create a “sustainable” independent Irish cement producer.

However, in a statement today, Lagan Cement said discussion on the possible venture had concluded, and both companies had decided not to progress further.
