March of Tesco continues

Tesco is to redevelop Dundalk Shopping Centre, one of Ireland's first enclosed shopping malls which was built by the late Phil Monahan of Monarch Properties in 1974.

In the meantime, Tesco will relocate to temporary premises on site. The British multiple expects to move into a new 5,574sq m (60,000sq ft) store by next autumn. New accommodation will be provided for the five tenants in the complex.

Tesco is also planning to move into a newly built replacement store of 4,645sq m (50,000sq ft) in Gorey, Co Wexford, next January. |Yesterday it opened a 232sq m (2,500sq ft) express store at Leonard’s Corner on the South Circular Road in Dublin 8.
