Over €9m paid for Castleknock siteThe prosperous west Dublin village of Castleknock looks set to get better shopping facilities following the sale of a development site of 0.68 of a hectare (1.7 acres) for over €9 million.

DTZ Sherry FitzGerald handled the sale of the site opposite Myo's bar which it described as "the last substantial development opportunity in the village". It is located at the back of the old post office and adjoins both the Ashleigh and Castleknock village shopping centres. There are three access points to the land. The agent estimates that the site could accommodate up to 1,858sq m (20,000sq ft) of retail facilities as well as apartments and offices.

Fulton opens new Belfast store

One of Northern Ireland's best known furnishing retailers, Fulton, has opened a new flagship design store within Balmoral Plaza on Boucher Road in Belfast. The new 5,945sq m (64,000sq ft) store forms part of a £12 million (€17.775 million) development which also has a Hawthorne House Restaurant at first floor level. Two smaller retail units on either side of Fultons are available at £242/€358 per sq m (£22.50/€33.3 per sq ft). The agent is Hamilton Osborne King.

€4.5m for Cavan holiday village

DTZ Sherry FitzGerald is quoting €4.5 million for Killykeen Holiday Village in Co Cavan. The facility stands on almost 74 acres. There is planning permission for a further 20 chalets and recreational buildings.

Bloomberg's Dublin bureau

Bloomberg, the global provider of financial news and data which is currently in negotiations to lease part of a newly developed office building in Dublin's south docklands, has had a bureau in the city for several years. A report in last week's commercial property section wrongly suggested otherwise.
