Jul y – Dunne's companies buy Jurys and Berkeley Court hotels in Ballsbridge and adjoining site for €379 million, representing a record €54 million an acre, using loans from a group of lenders led by Ulster Bank

July – Ulster Bank and Irish Nationwide lend Dunne's companies €165 million to buy part of AIB Bankcentre in Dublin

Ju ly – Nama sues Dunne and Killilea in the Superior Court of Connecticut, claiming that he fraudulently transferred properties in Geneva, Switzerland and Greenwich, Connecticut, as well as money to his wife

2013
February 12th – Ulster Bank applies to the Irish High Court to make Dunne bankrupt
March 29th – Dunne circumvents Ulster Bank's action by voluntarily filing for bankruptcy in Connecticut in the United States. He lists debts of $942 million (€690 million) and assets of $55 million (€40 million)
June 19t h – Dunne attends first meeting of creditors since filing
for bankruptcy
July 8 th – Nama files adversary proceeding against Dunne objecting to his discharge from bankruptcy on the basisthat he fraudulently concealed and transferred assets to his
