Currys and Petmania for D9 park

Retail Market:The Cosgrave Group has attracted more top class tenants to its Gulliver's Retail Park in Santry, Dublin 9.

Currys, the electrical appliances retailer, and Kilkenny-based Petmania will begin trading before the end of November.

Currys, like other new tenants, will be paying €296 per sq m (€27.50 per sq ft) as well as 3 per cent of the turnover for its shop of 1,815sq m (19,536sq ft), one of its largest units in the country.

Petmania will have a building of 700sq m (7,525sq ft). The company also plans to open a further seven shops before Christmas.

Other tenants in the retail park include Homebase, Hickeys, Home Focus and Premier Golf. Last month Eurospar also opened a flagship store within the adjoining neighbourhood centre where it has a floor area of 743sq m (8,000sq ft). A pharmacy and a coffee shop are due to begin trading next spring.

Santry Demesne has seen huge development in recent years, including over 1,000 residential units either completed or under construction, Northwood Fitness Centre, the Crowne Plaza Hotel and Ireland's first large scale sports injury clinic.

Cosgraves has a landing holding within the demesne of 50 acres and is due to complete the first phase of an office development in January. It will include two blocks with 15,000sq m (161,459sq ft) of floor space. Cosgraves has already developed half of its Santry land.

Ruth Miley of Savills HOK is marketing the last remaining unit within Gulliver's Retail Park. It extends to 700sq m (7,535sq ft) with the possibility of enlarging it to 930sq m (10,010sq ft).
