E-commerce infrastructure firm EDI Factory will create 120 jobs in the next 18 months as part of a $5 million investment. The company, which has changed its name to Celerity, will concentrate on the Irish market initially before focusing on the export trade in 2001. Some 20 jobs will be created at its Dublin headquarters immediately.
Established in 1989, Celerity claims to process some $700 million of online business each year. Its systems integrate internal back office processes with the external functions of buyers, suppliers and service providers. The company received some £60,000 in State grant aid under the e-commerce corporate infrastructure programme.
