California overtakes France

California has overtaken France to become the world's fifth largest economy, according to the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation. The "Sunshine State" last year had a gross domestic product of $1.33 trillion (€1.54 trillion) while France had a GDP of $1.281 trillion.
