The importance of people is the focus of this week's Big Changes for Small Firms (Saturday, 10.00 a.m., RTE 1). Featured in this programme is Just In Fruit & Vegetables Processors which has invested in constant retraining of frontline staff which has increased market share says Mr Dermot Skehan, managing director.

As the British public and business opinion remain resolutely unimpressed by the prospect of joining the European single currency, the government too has begun to send out mixed signals. The Money Programme (Sunday, 6.30 p.m., BBC 2) investigates the hidden agenda as the Chancellor, Mr Gordon Brown, says that Britain won't even consider joining the euro until strict economic tests have been passed.

Three young entrepreneurs are profiled in Jobs Uncovered (Tuesday, 7.00 p.m., Network 2). Cyril McGuire is one of the two Trintech brothers which was recently floated on the US and Irish stock exchanges; Tom McCabe is a self-made millionaire with a controversial philosophy on entrepreneurs as a breed; Dan Watson is a bicycle courier by day and the owner and manager of his own record label by night; and Ruth McGarryQuinn gave up nursing and her last month's paycheque to set up a chocolate-making business.
