BAILEYS on the Box or at least the creamy liqueur that has become one of Ireland's most famous exports will be if owner, Grand Met, gets its way.

According to Advertising Age, Interpublic, the American advertisement agency that creates advertisements for Baileys has contacted local TV stations asking them if they would carry the advertisements. That would mean, however, changing the American drinks industry's voluntary ban on broadcast advertising.

The industry's trade association has still not changed its rules which include the self-imposed ban on broadcasting advertising, but some of the bigger drinks companies are keen on a change, "a person familiar with the situation" told Advertising Age
