Ayling steps down at BA

THE British Airways chief executive, Mr Bob Ayling, stepped down from his job yesterday, with officials insisting that the airline's business strategy remained intact. BA, which is heading for its first full-year loss, said chairman Lord Marshall will act as chief executive while a successor is sought.
