Apple Computer presented a new PC on Monday that it said brings the power of a supercomputer to a desktop machine. The new machine, the Power Mac G4, has a performance of more than one billion operations per second. In an address to the Seybold Publishing Conference here, Apple interim chief executive Steve Jobs said the G4 was up to twice as fast as the fastest Intel Pentium III-based PCs.
