The strength of Ireland’s food industry is evident in the latest directory of the Top 100 food and drink manufacturers in Britain and Ireland published by Food Drink Business Europe magazine.
According to the publication, there are three Irish companies in the top 10, each of which has improved its position on last year.
Kerry Group has climbed one place from fifth to fourth, lying behind Unilever, Associated British Foods and Diageo.
It is joined in the top 10 by Glanbia, which has moved from eighth place up to sixth, and the Irish Dairy Board, which has advanced to eighth place, up from 11th last year. Other Irish firms include Dawn Meats Group (30), ABP Food Group (35), Dairygold (40) and Kepak (42).
Elsewhere, British firm Boporan Holdings moving from 32nd to 16th place.
