High Court action has been adjourned against the former leading investment broker, Mr Tony Taylor, who disappeared from Ireland around the time his investment business collapsed and is now in jail in England.
The liquidator of Taylor Asset Managers, Mr Paddy McSweeney, is seeking to have Mr Taylor made personally liable for all the debts of the Taylor Group.
On the application of Mr Michael Collins SC, for the liquidator, Ms Justice Carroll yesterday adjourned the action, which was to have opened on Thursday, to the next court list to fix dates.
Mr Collins said Mr Taylor was accused of various wrongdoings. He had been arrested in England and was in prison there.
Mr Taylor's wife, who is also involved in the High Court proceedings, had no objection to an adjournment of the case listed for Thursday.
Taylor disappeared in 1996 around the time his investment business collapsed. More than £2 million of investors' funds are unaccounted for, it is alleged.
