Here are the latest New Music selections from the On The Record column in tomorrow’s edition of The Ticket. Please feel free to share tips below or check out all past New Music selections here.

Flo Morrissey

You can hear why the Glassnote label have taken an interest when you check out “Show Me” and “If You Can’t Love This All Goes Away” from the young London-based singer-songwriter with an Irish background. Formerly operating as 9mary, Morrissey comes with one of those vintage, evocative voices to remind you of Karen Dalton, Evie Sands or Lana Del Rey.

Future anthems to go from Brisbane trio Rabbit who’ve got their eyes firmly on the indie crown. We like the gnarly pop appeal and brilliant melodic heft of tunes like “Treehouse Kings” and “Shadows Make Us Freeze” from their “Did We?” debut EP.

Rage On Gold

We don’t know if London’s Rage On Gold crew have more tunes like “Kick Flips” in their arsenal but this will do for starters. A pop hit with the right measures of attitude and sass at its back, “Kick Flips” sounds tailor-made for late summer/early autumn radio domination.
