Pete Seeger RIP
The veteran folk songwriter and champion has died at the age of 94
The death has taken place of the veteran folk singer and songwriter Pete Seeger at the age of 94.
One of folk music’s most heralded champions, Seeger lived a full and vibrant life. A regular and promenient figure in many civil rights, environmental and anti-war protests, Seeger was also a significant figure in the folk revival of the 1950s and acted as a mentor to the likes of Bob Dylan and others.
In more recent years, Bruce Springsteen released and toured the “We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions” album based on Seeger’s stock of traditional music.
