Here’s an interview with the master fiddler Martin Hayes which I did for the paper at the weekend. You can catch Hayes playing with Triúr, alongside Peadar Ó Riada and Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh, at the National Concert Hall next Sunday as support to early music superstar Jordi Savall. Bonus music: the classic “Live in Seattle” album from Hayes and Dennis Cahill, as recorded in the city’s Tractor Tavern back in 1999, is below
