Banter plug: The Attention Economy is the title of our Banter discussion which happens at the Twisted Pepper, Middle Abbey St., Dublin 1 next Thursday, April 26. Michael Foley (author of the bestselling The Age Of Absurdity: Why Modern Life Makes It Hard to be Happy), Finian Murphy (consumer and media researcher) and Roisin Ingle (The Irish Times) will look at how we’re spending the most valuable currency of all, our time and attention. Tickets at €8 each are now on sale at the Bodytonic online box office. Admission on the night will be €10. Doors open at 7.30pm and the Bantering gets underway at 8pm. Full info on what to expect here.

The OTR plugs service is now open for business. Please feel free to plug and recommend stuff away to your heart’s content, but remember some simple rules: (a) declare an interest where one should be declared, (b) plugs are accepted on the whim of OTR and may be edited for length/clarity/common sense and (c) plugs which mention a commercial sponsor are really ads and will probably not be published in this slot. It’s the feaking weekend.
