    Very exciting news: Tom Tom Club, the band featuring Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth from Talking Heads, play Dublin’s Vicar Street on July 22. Tickets go on sale on Fridat at €34.60 a pop (plus TM fees). The band, who are celebrating their 30th anniversary this year, played Dublin’s McGonagles back in 1988 and that remains one of my favourite ever live shows.

      Neither have even happened yet, but I suspect this will probably compete with Rush for my gig of the year. :)

      1988!!! I was there too – Jim you’re making me feel old – Jim you must have been underage to get to see them :-)
      If memory serves me right – Del Amitri were the support on the night in ’88.

      Paul @2 – a load of mainland Europe Wilco dates went up today but sadly no Dublin gig – 22/23 October looks good – Vicar Street is free I think & Aiken normally promotes the Wilco shows.

      Zimmerframe – you are too kind! McGonagles was always my fave Dublin venue. Tom Tom Club also played in Sir Henrys in Cork on that trip.
