JC – we got there in the end!

Quint – any show with Talk Talk is a great show IMHO. Peter Broderick has a new mini-album called “How They Are” coming out in Sep on Bella Union.

I was only listening to Giant Steps the other day. The missus had only ever heard Wake Up Boo! and I was setting her straight. What a great tune Lazarus is. Takes me back to me youth.

I’d like to be the first to welcome Phantom FM to the year 2002 and the joys of streaming. Who knows, they might even get around to making their website vaguely functional one of these days…

Great show as always, Jim. Have had that Egyptian Hip Hop tune in my head all day. Someone ought to book those kids for The Picnic stat.

@the harro 7 We’ve been streaming for years and probably offer the most comprehensive range of stream types to cater for all types of users – AAC+, MP3 and Windows Media and to suit high and low bandwidths.

Respect your opinion on our web site but with two Irish Web Awards, a Digital Media Award and IIA Net Visionary award in the past 3 years we would beg to differ. We are course always open to suggestions and features – webmaster@phantom.ie

Our app currently does not support ‘listen back’ only live streaming. We’ll look at it for a future release.

I always miss the show, so that’s good news! The Boos were great in their day, perfect pop music in my book.

    Brian @8:

Ah, sure I’m only a cynical oul’ codger, don’t mind me! The site looks a lot better than it used to in fairness. I suppose what I’m trying to say is hooray for finally being able to hear The Far Side each week without having to stay up ’til crazy o’clock on a school night.

Eoghan – found the album in the car last week when we were driving around west Cork and I fell back in love with it. I haven’t a clue what the others are doing. Can any readers shine any light on ex-Immediate folks now?

Lazarus is effing awesome. It’s a shame that they’ll be remembered for Wake Up when there were three cracking albums before that and some great EPs.

Re ex Immediate heads. Pete dj’s psych & garage etc at various events about town……B Music, We Love parties etc. Also presents the Brainbeat show on 2XM. Far as I know the other vocalist/guitarist dude (Dave I think his name is) devotes himself full time to his painting these days.

@15 Mclovin. It’s only available as a stream – we have a Limited Online Exploitation licence to cover this. Yes, IMRO do issue a LOEL for podcasting but there is a stumbling block. Copyright is multi-layered and we would need to seek the permission of each copyright holder for each track that would be included in a podcasted version of a radio show. This pretty makes it an impossible task to legally podcast regular radio shows. We have podcasted music tracks before but it has tended to be with local bands who can sign off on the use of the track(s) or “podsafe” music.

There’s a good guide to the ins and outs of Podcasting legal issues here (though it’s not specifically related to Ireland)
