    • out of interest, what do you do tonight? lie in wait? or is there a big party for all the media types and workers?

    • Bert Stanfield says:

      Gonna be great!!!

    • Jim Carroll says:

or is there a big party for all the media types and workers?

A big party? For all the media types? And workers? Ah, daniel, forfucksake, c’mon! You obviously have a very glam view of what we music hacks and festival workers do the night before it all kicks off! Like everyone else, we’ll be spending tonight trying to get on top of stuff for tomorrow and many of the production crews will be working round the clock on stages etc

    • Quint says:

      The sun!!!!

    • Jim Carroll says:

Quint – please note that it was sunny when I was out and about taking those pics and it pelted out of the heavens when I was back in the shed putting those pics online. Weather changed every half-hour here today. Some of the arena is v soggy – especially some of the Body & Soul area – so it will be WELLIESTOCK for the weekend

    • haha, i hate to make sweeping generalisations – well, no, i love it really – but there’s a certain demographic of Picnic-goers who i’d really love to see dealing with an out-and-out mudbath. they’ll be traumatised.

don’t mind me, i’m just jealous – working all weekend

    • Darragh says:

looks groovy. But there’s a chill in the air tonight. I think it will be the first year underprepared people will get a REAL taste of what it’s like to sleep outdoors in the autumn. Jumpers and thermals!

    • Pat Carty says:

Jim, have Echo & The Bunnymen cancelled due to the sad death of their keyboard player?

    • kDamo says:

Don’t lie Jim, those Thursday night parties were always the best part of working at a festival. “Testing” the fun fair and dancing in an empty Silent Disco… ah, those were the days.

    • Brian D says:

The irony of it all. As I recall the EP was sold in it’s first year as the boutique festival where ladies wouldn’t get their high heels muddy nor would your Porsche sink in the parking area.

In any case, I hope it’s dry over the weekend.

Any difference now that the Festival Republic lads are running the show?

    • Jim Carroll says:

darragh – I can see a lot of fair-weather campers bailing for the nearest B&B on Saturday

pat – no news on that

kDamo – obviously us media types can’t comment on those shenanigans

Brian D – Any difference now that the Festival Republic lads are running the show?

Even more English accents than usual

    • dave lynn says:

I’m starvin’ lookin’ at that pie and mash stand!

    • ivan says:

      @Daniel #6

      EVERYBODY loves making sweeping generalisations.

    • Keith says:

Thats weird about the Bunnymens keyboardist dying off a motorbike. their original drummer Pete De Freitas died the same way in the 80′s

      Can’t see them playing EP

    • Colette says:

Oooh, the pink ship! I got my piccie taken at the pink ship last year because I love Tintin. The gal who was painting it was sitting on top at the time doing her work. Was most impressed.

Sigh, have lots of fun folks, can’t be there this year and it’s nearly killing me. Have a boogie around your handbag at Chic for me!

      C.
